The BCCI issued a statement on Tuesday, saying, “Jasprit Bumrah has been released from the squad for the 4th IDFC First Bank Test against England in Ranchi. The decision was taken considering the series duration and the amount of cricket he has played recently.”
According to reports, Bumrah expressed interest in playing all five Tests, but with the IPL, T20 World Cup, and other significant events approaching, the team management and selectors advised him to skip the Ranchi Test. They believe he will be crucial for the final game in Dharamsala, where conditions favor seamers.
